CP Rail Modeler's Resources:
Modeling the Canadian Pacific is what the Sudbury
Division is all about. Here are some sites that we have found helpful in that
task.
- Canadian Pacific Railway Diesel Locomotive Roster - 'THE' site for CPR diesel photos and paint scheme information.
- CPRailPhotos.com - Great site for CP Rail motive power and rolling stock roster photos.
- Algoma Eastern Railway - The unofficial site of the former AER, merged by CP in 1932 into their Little Current and Nickel Subs.
- Canadian Pacific Modelling - Greg William's forum for CPR modelling
- CP Rail SD40-2s - A guide to Canadian Pacific's favourite diesel locomotives.
- The unofficial Algoma Central Rly Home Page by Ted Ellis - Dozens of classic CPR and ACR photos in northern Ontario from the late 60's to the early 80's.
- Algoma Central Railfan & Modelling Site - Even more photos and operational information on the Algoma Central Railway
- Fallen Flag Railroad Photos - A great collection of locomotive and rolling stock photos for all railroads.
- Canadian Freight Car Gallery
- Maine Rail Photos - Larry Goss' photo album of CPR, BAR and MEC operations in northern Maine during the 60's & 70's.
- Great Lakes Rail - A site dedicated exclusively to railroading in the Great Lakes area of the United States and Canada.
- The Canadian MLW/ALCO Pages - A pictorial retrospective of ALCO, MLW and Bombardier diesel locomotives in Canada.

- And, of course, Mile 77, CPR, Cartier Subdivision, Wayne Regaudie's guide to railfanning the CPR's lines in the Sudbury Region
- www.mountainrailway.com - Wilco van Schoonhoven's photo site of the CPR in Rockies also has a great gallery of CPR diesel motive power. One of the best sites in existance for CPR locomotive photos!
- http://www.trainweb.org/incorail/ - UnOfficial INCO Railway site
Selected Model Manufacturers:
What would model railroading be without kits to build or detail parts to add? Here are some manufacturers whose products we have found helpful in our modeling. The emphasis is on small Canadian companies making quality products for the CP Rail modeller and on companies whose products are used on the WRMRC layout.
- Sylvan Scale Models - Accurate resin models for CPR and other Canadian roads at reasonable prices.
- Kaslo Shops - Resin and metal kits/details for a variety of Canadian subjects, specializing in modern western Canadian prototypes.
- North Coast Engineering and System One are the DCC system used by WRMRC.
- Railflyer Model Prototypes - producer of etched brass and plastic detail parts and decals for Canadian locomotives.
Prototype Model Railroad Layout Links:
If our site has inspired you to pursue prototype modeling, here is a partial list of other modelers and clubs who share our enthusiasm for prototype inspired railway modeling.
- Rensselaer Model Railroad Society - Official site of the NEB&W layout at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
- Joe Fugate's SP Siskiyou Line - Modelling the Southern Pacific through southern Oregon in the 80's.
- J. Richard Wakefield's CPR Bruce Lines - Modelling the CPR's Bruce Peninsula branchline network in the late 40's.

- Mike Dodd's HO scale Virginian Railway -Set in 1954. Operations-oriented using TT&TO procedures. Web site has photos and descriptions of the railroad, plus information and samples of most of the paperwork used during operating sessions.
- Rich Weyand’s N&W Pocahontas Division - Circa 1958... the immensity of W.Va. captured in N-scale.
- John Parker - BNSF Fall River Subdivision - Modern BNSF modelling on a heavy operations-based layout with working CTC dispatching and real-time car control
- Larry Reynolds - PRR Altoona Area - The Pennsylvania circa 1950’s. Great modelling plus operations-based layout with working US&S CTC dispatching panel coupled with PRR position light signals.
